Social Media and Community Relations Manager
The Autism Science Foundation is seeking a social media expert who can design and produce original daily content on multiple social media platforms, including the ASF blog and website. The person will also prepare a monthly newsletter and provide support for community events. This is a full time position, with benefits, located in our New York City office.
The right person will have experience, expertise or ability to quickly learn the following:
- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Wordpress, YouTube
- Constant Contact
- CauseVox
- Photoshop
- Drupal
This individual should have a strong knowledge of issues important to the autism stakeholder community, particularly autism research. He/she should have superior writing, research, and editorial acumen with an ability to craft messages for various social and traditional communications outlets, and have strong presentation and public speaking skills. This person also needs to be highly organized and able to juggle multiple administrative tasks. We are a small, growing organization. The new employee should expect to participate in all our activities – leading some and assisting with others.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in the areas outlined above
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Strategic thinker, excellent writer, creative marketer
- Experience in online community/social media for a business or organization
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills; team player
- Science, health and medical knowledge or experience. Personal or professional
- experience with autism is a plus, but is not required.
- Bachelor’s degree
