Keystone Symposia: Towards Defining the Pathophysiology of Autistic Behavior

This conference will bring together clinical and basic scientists from various disciplines to  review etiologically-defined autistic syndromes; compare and contrast the phenomenology (including physical features, behavior and neural circuitry) of autistic syndromes so as to refine ideas regarding etiologically-meaningful aspects of the autism phenotype; examine the role of the environment (epigenetic influences) in contributing to the etiology and underlying mechanisms of autism with the aim of elucidating a more comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology of autistic behavior; and examine how gene-by-environment (GxE) factors impact synaptic function and plasticity that may lie at the heart of autism syndromes.  Click here for more information

National Immunization Conference

This conference will explore innovative strategies for developing programs, policy, and research to promote immunization coverage for all age groups. Special attention will be paid to improving communication with parents who continue to express concern about vaccines causing autism, despite clear evidence to the contrary. Celebrating Families: Mother's Day Brunch

Join us at the JCC of Mid-Westchester  for our special “Celebrating Families: Mother's Day Brunch” at 12:30pm. The event will be an opportunity for families with children with special needs to come together to celebrate being a family. There will be lots of special events and surprises for kids and moms (and dads too!), including a great silent auction.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Toward Tomorrow School (JCC of Mid-Westchester) and the Autism Science Foundation. Our next “Science and Sandwiches” lunchtime event will take place at IMFAR (the International Meeting for Autism Research) at the Philadelphia Marriott on May 20 (exact time tba). Join us to hear from six ASF-funded pre-doctoral students who will describe their new research projects.  Science and Sandwiches brings parents, researchers and other stakeholders together to share ideas, talk science and, of course, eat sandwiches.

Fore Autism

Join us for our signature fundraising golf event, “Fore Autism", at the incredibly beautiful TPC Potomac at Avenel, in Potomac, Maryland. This course is a former US Open site and is absolutely spectacular.  The day will begin at 10am with breakfast and putting practice, followed by a noon tee time.  After 18 holes of golf, guests will enjoy cocktails and a gala dinner, with dinner speaker Dr. Tom Insel, Director of the NIMH.  There will be lots of fun activities throughout the day including a "hole in one" contest for a car, a putting contest, a "longest drive" contest, and a silent auction with great sports packages available.  Click here to learn more.
