Science & Sandwiches

Our quarterly “Science & Sandwiches” program brings small, informal groups of scientists together with parents and individuals with autism to share ideas and, of course, to eat sandwiches. Scientists benefit from hearing about the day to day experiences of families, and families hear directly about the latest in autism research from the scientists themselves. From this dynamic combination, big new ideas are often born.

We have hosted lunchtime talks by Dr. Joe Buxbaum of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Ami Klin of the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta, Dr. Paul Offit of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Richard Grinker of George Washington University in Washington DC, and many others.

2012 Science & Sandwiches Events are scheduled to take place in Boston, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
